What you get with this model

  • Every cabinet is cut for the 15,000 mm shell — the latitude bands, the truncations at top and bottom and the cable exits are tooled for this one diameter
  • IP65 sealing on cabinet joints, driver covers and cable glands — the build is tested as a sealed assembly, not per component
  • Front-service modules on magnetic carriers: one dead module comes off with a suction tool, no need to open the shell or hire a lift
  • Load ring, eight-point rigging and a stamped connection detail are included in the drawing package
  • Max draw is 706.9 kW at 1,000 W/m² — we size the distribution board and the cable runs from this figure, not from a rule of thumb

Fifteen metres is a landmark commission: 707 m² of surface, and the LED is maybe a third of the budget. Geotech, lightning protection and a permanent access platform all land on this page.

FAQ

Practical questions

What resolution does a 15 m sphere give at P10?
4,712 × 2,356 px, about 11,101,472 pixels in total. The horizontal count is the circumference (47.12 m) divided by 10 mm; the vertical count is half that, because a sphere maps as a 2:1 equirectangular image.
How much does a 15 m LED sphere weigh?
Around 12.7 t for the screen and shell together, assuming 18 kg per m² of surface. That is an estimate for early structural conversations — the final figure comes from the shell design and we issue it with the drawing set.
Can it be built in a different diameter?
Yes. Anything from 0.8 m to 20 m is quoted from a drawing; the sizes on this page are the ones with existing tooling, which is why they are cheaper and faster. An odd diameter means a new mould set, and that shows up as a separate line in the quotation.
